In Borgofranco d’Ivrea, on Thursday 7 at around 10, the rescue car was alerted by a passerby who noticed a shopping cart full of provisions along the road near the local Penny Market. Approaching the trolley, he immediately realized that a woman was standing inside the concrete channel, over a meter deep, that runs alongside the road. It will be up to the Carabinieri to understand how the woman fell into the canal: perhaps an illness or perhaps a car passed along the highway too close to her, which hit her making her lose her balance. Transported to the CTO, the woman suffered a head injury, but she is not in danger of life. An Ivrea Fire Brigade, an ambulance and the Carabinieri intervened on her place to lift her from the canal.
