Italian family kidnapped in Mali: “Taken by armed men”

An Italian Jehovah’s Witness family – apparently made up of a couple with a child – were kidnapped in Mali, along with a Togolese. This was announced by AFP, the France-Presse agency, citing local sources: “They were abducted by armed men”.

According to the Efe news agency, the incident took place in Sinzina, in the district of Koutiala, in southern Mali, east of the capital Bamako.

The kidnapping took place on Thursday evening. “We are doing everything possible to secure their release,” a source in the Malian security forces told AFP.
