The content of the 2010 report is reserved, in which the safety of the false ceilings of the north building of the Valcalcino complex was questioned, where two schools and eight associations were hosted until last week. The document, distributed on request only to municipal councilors with a lot of confidentiality obligation at the disposal of the general secretary Barbara Capo, could in fact be the subject of an internal investigation by the municipal administration. Investigation aimed at understanding why in the last 11 years that report, which led the manager of the technical office Jgor Nolesio to sign an order for the evacuation of the premises entrusted to the associations last Monday, only came out today. And why in all these years no one has raised the issue of the safety of those premises.
The appraisal, carried out on behalf of the Municipality by the associated firm Tecse Engineering of Turin and aimed at unifying all the municipal offices in the two Valcalcino buildings, re-emerged a few weeks ago during an inspection in the south building with the intention of hosting also in those some local associations. «The Municipality will shortly be commissioned to follow a new survey on the north building – explains Deputy Mayor Elisabetta Piccoli -. It is true that this structure had undergone major renovations, internal walls and roof, but those interventions did not concern the false ceilings. Now to carry out the appraisal the building must be empty ». Piccoli, however, specifies a few things: «In the face of that report, we could not have acted differently because safety is a priority. Sorry that someone is exploiting this situation, but the truth is that we have inherited a real estate assets that are in a dramatic situation with so many empty and badly maintained buildings ».
Now the urgency is to relocate schools and associations. “We are giving priority to schools – adds Piccoli -. For the didactic direction of Ivrea 2 we made a withdrawal from the reserve fund to finance the move and complete the work at the Falcone school. On the other hand, it is more complicated to meet the needs of the CPIA, the provincial center for adult education ”.
«It is a strategic school for the integration of immigrants – explains the deputy mayor -. We are evaluating the premises of the House of Charity of Arts and Crafts and those of Moreno. We asked the neighboring municipalities for financial help because only 50% of the users reside in Ivrea. We called a meeting, but only 4 municipalities attended ». The other urgency is that of the Women’s House. The Municipality has made an office available at the Meeting Point where it will be possible, however, to set up only one counter. The other activities are currently stopped.
Of extreme importance is the activity of radio amateurs. The Municipality plans to host them where the Joint Operations Center is now located, in via Cardinal Fietta.
