Due to the inconveniences presented in the Bogotá – Villavicencio corridor, since the road accident registered 15 days ago, the departmental administration made the decision to postpone Expomalocas 2024, until further notice.
According to the director of the Meta Tourism Institute, Luis Carlos Londoño Vargas, so far there is no road contingency plan that guarantees the logistics of the most important Agroindustrial Fair in the Orinoquía.
“The first 8 days of January we took a measurement and we were 35% below the number of tourists who came to the department, compared to previous years,” said the director.
He added that, in hotel occupancy, 36% below, compared to the last periods, “and this leads us to the fact that we must guarantee a good contingency plan on the road, until the pending works are carried out,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of Agriculture Eugenia Ramírez stated that the decision has already been communicated to the representatives of the equine and bovine associations, and that the new date of Expomalocas 2024 will be agreed with them.
The contractual processes of the Fair will continue to advance so that once the rescheduling is confirmed, everything is ready for its realization.
