Lahore: In the sixth match of Super League (PSL) 9, Karachi Kings easily defeated Peshawar Zalmi by 7 wickets, Mir Hamza was declared the man of the match.
The target of 155 runs given by Peshawar Zalmi was achieved by Karachi Kings in the 17th over for the loss of 3 wickets.
This is the first success of Karachi Kings in the event, while Peshawar Zalmi has also faced defeat in the second match in a row.
In the match played at Gaddafi Stadium, Karachi Kings won the toss and invited Peshawar Zalmi to bat first.
Peshawar Zalmi team was all out after scoring 154 runs in 19.5 overs. Captain Babar Azam played an innings of 72 runs.
Rowman Powell scored 39 runs and Asif Ali scored 23 runs, while none of Zalmi’s batters could enter into double figures except for these 3 batters. Hasan Ali and Mir Hamza of Karachi Kings dismissed 3 and 3 players respectively.
Kings chased down the target confidently, but captain Shaun Masood returned to the pavilion with a 12-run innings. Mohammad Akhlaq scored 24 runs while showing aggressive batting.
Shoaib Malik played a responsible innings of 29 runs, but thanks to James Vance’s 38 off 30 balls and Kieron Pollard’s 49 off 21 balls, Karachi Kings achieved the target in 16.5 overs with the loss of 3 wickets.
