The Spring Breeze Action: New Trends in Construction and Recruitment
As the Lunar New Year celebrations come to an end, industries across China are gearing up for a busy season of construction and recruitment. Companies are racing to meet soaring demand, sparking a wave of job opportunities and labor cooperation initiatives.
In Pengshan District, Meishan City, Sichuan Province, the “Operation Spring Breeze” job fair drew a large crowd on February 19. The event marked the beginning of a new trend in construction and recruitment, with companies eager to fill positions and stabilize their operations.
One such company, Hunan Rongtai Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd., has already started production ahead of schedule to fulfill a 130 million yuan order. The Industrial Development Bureau of Changde High-tech Zone reported a surge in new orders at the start of the year, signaling a promising start for many businesses.
In the Pearl River Delta region, companies are ramping up production and facing a strong demand for labor. Local governments are facilitating labor cooperation between regions to ensure a smooth transition back to work for migrant workers.
On February 18, a special return-to-work train carrying over 600 migrant workers arrived at Guangzhou South Railway Station. This initiative, part of the east-west labor cooperation effort, aims to help migrant workers return to their jobs promptly.
The job market is also evolving, with workers expressing higher expectations for job satisfaction and salaries. The Guangdong Provincial Employment Service Administration noted an increased demand for skilled workers in the 2024 recruitment plan.
In Sichuan, the demand for labor from local enterprises is on the rise, leading to a surge in job opportunities for returning migrant workers. Job fairs like the one in Renshou County are offering thousands of positions, attracting job seekers with better pay and prospects closer to home.
Efforts to retain talent and address labor shortages are a key focus for post-holiday recruitment initiatives. From corporate job fairs in Huai’an City to specialized recruitment events for college graduates in Yantai, regions are finding innovative ways to match skilled workers with available positions.
As the Spring Breeze Action gains momentum, it signifies a stable start for the economy and instills positive confidence for the future. With a focus on stable growth and sustainable development, the construction and recruitment industries are set to thrive in the months ahead.
