Nicolás Maduro’s request for the Venezuelan people
Maduro called on Venezuelans to defend peace, stability and security, and ordered to activate a “high alert” in intelligence and counterintelligence agencies.
“These terrorists cannot come to try to sabotage Venezuela, to try to disrupt our economic recovery and disrupt the electoral celebration of democracy that we are going to have on July 28,” he stressed.

In 2015, Venezuelan Justice sentenced López to almost 14 years in prison for crimes related to the violence unleashed during the 2014 anti-government protests, a sentence he partially served, until he left the country after spending 18 months as a guest at the residence of the Spanish ambassador in Caracas.
Chavismo has pointed out Lopez of Uribe for numerous conspiracies, some of which include – according to the Prosecutor’s Office – plans to assassinate the president.
Maduro, in power since 2013, will seek a third term in the July elections, in which it is still not clear who his opponents will be, due to the disqualification that prevents him from competing.to former representative María Corina Machado, elected in primaries as the candidate of the main opposition coalition.
