‘Mama Vila’ recovers from respiratory complications

Due to a respiratory infection, since last Saturday the health of Elvira Maestre, affectionately known as ‘Mamá Vila’, mother of the immortal Diomedes Díaz, has suffered some complications and was admitted to the Cesar Cardiovascular Institute, where in the last few hours she has showed improvement and remains under medical care.

The improvement of the Díaz matron, 87 years old, has generated relief for the family and followers of the vallenato artist, who see in this woman the gift of a mother dedicated to the greatest exponent of vallenato music and today to the Diaz dynasty.

Elver Díaz, son of ‘Mamá Vila’ and brother of Diomedes, reported that his mother is in favorable condition. “Thank God my mother is progressing well, we took her to the clinic because she had fever, high blood pressure, low platelets,” he said.

Through social networks, Elver Díaz and his grandson Martin Elías, Junior, published a video where he is seen with a better appearance.

“Now she has a small infection in her lungs but everything is evolving, she speaks normally and we believe that in a few days she will be discharged,” said the artist.

Likewise, through the video ‘Mamá Vila’, he sends a message of peace to the fans from whom he asked for prayers for his improvement.

Martín Elías Junior, through his Instagram account, stated: “Thanks to my God, he is very well and improving. Thank you for all the prayers and good wishes, ‘Mamá Vila’ had the opportunity to speak with Paulita, my little sister, and also to receive visits from all of her relatives. For my part, I would like to thank everyone for their wishes and let my beautiful great-grandmother know that she will always have me. Please continue with the prayers, God is the best option, thank you very much.”
