The Popayán Plateau, made up of several municipalities, is fertile land with great potential for agribusiness.
In mid-January 2024, the mayors had just taken office, after a meeting called by the mayor of Popayán, Juan Carlos Muñoz Bravo, what this media called the metropolitan area of the Popayán Plateau began to take shape, an initiative that has always has been floating in the atmosphere of the central region of the department, but now, apparently, it will be a reality with the signing of the Agreement of Wills by the leaders of Timbío, Sotará, El Tambo, Cajibío, Piendamó, Morales, Silvia , Puracé and Totoró, which will make up the Territorial Associative Scheme, EAT.
As another early victory of his Administration and a step of great importance in his intentions to recover Popayán, Mayor Juan Carlos Muñoz Bravo described the Agreement of Wills that he signed with nine of his counterparts, in order to create a Territorial Associative Scheme , EAT.
In this document, the signatories formally express their interest and commitment to be an active part of an associative process in the Central region of the department of Cauca, with the purpose of advancing articulated in strategic objectives that allow the comprehensive development of the territory.
“We are very happy that the ten mayors of the center of our department have reached an agreement, with the goal of joining all efforts in our intention to have a Collection Center in the future, where it can be sold at a good price. for producers and buyers, the agricultural products of our area of influence,” said the host mayor.
Now, each leader will socialize this Agreement with his Government team and the councilors to advance the process that is expected to be carried out with the regional association.
