The four shooters were quickly arrested, as were several people who allegedly helped them. There were a total of eleven arrests.
The four shooters, among others, were already arrested by the court earlier this week. The court now announces that a ninth suspect has been placed in pre-trial detention until at least May 22. This again concerns a person from the Central Asian country of Tajikistan.
The court did not specify what his role would have been in the attack. Islamic State in Khorasan Province, the branch of IS active in the region around Afghanistan, claimed responsibility for the attack.
Russian authorities spoke on Wednesday of 143 fatalities in the shooting in the concert hall, which was also set on fire. Health Minister Mikhail Murashko announced on Friday that another victim had died. Dozens of injured people are still in hospital.
