No agreement between trade unions and Asfo, strike announced. Decisive hours for Polimeni’s future, Riccardi: “The measure is full”

PORDENONE. Black smoke in the negotiations to avoid the strike in the Pordenone healthcare. The trade unions, in a press conference held today, Wednesday 4 May, at the CGIL headquarters announced the rejection of the hypothesis of agreement sent this morning by the western Friuli health authority.

According to them, this document contained substantial changes with respect to the 2021 agreement on increases related to shifts, of which the unions instead asked for full compliance, as happens in other companies. Strike confirmed, therefore, for Friday 13 May with an attached demonstration in Pordenone.

The trade unions will meet with the mayors on Monday 9 May at Casa Zanussi to take stock of the conditions in which the Pordenone healthcare system is experiencing. Simultaneously with the rejection of the hypothesis of an agreement, the unions asked for the resignation of the director general of Asfo Joseph Polimeni and invited the citizens of Pordenone who care about the fate of health care to participate in the demonstration and to support workers in the sector.

The decision marks an important turning point that could have to do, in the next few hours, with the role of Polimeni himself. The vice president of the region Riccardo Riccardi, in fact, is thinking about possible initiatives, given the irreconcilable positions between the unions and the leaders of Asfo.

“We need a reflection – he said to the microphones of Telefriuli – And the evaluations will also concern the director Polimeni ». “These irreconcilable positions are no longer sustainable. We cannot say no to workers, mayors, prefects and regional councilors. You can’t always say no. I tried, with all my might, to try to mediate. The measure is full, ”added the deputy governor.
