Orbán knows how Trump wants to end war in Ukraine: “He won’t give a cent”

by admin

Trump “has a clear vision,” Orbán said in an interview with Hungarian channel M1. He will “not give a cent for the Russian-Ukrainian war.” “That is why the war will stop, because it is clear that Ukraine cannot stand on its own two feet.”

“If the Americans do not give money and weapons, together with the Europeans, the war will end,” Orbán said. “And if the Americans don’t give money, the Europeans won’t be able to finance this war alone. And then the war will stop.” According to the Hungarian Prime Minister, Trump has “fairly detailed plans” on how to end the war.

Orbán made the statements after Trump received him on Friday evening at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

Both refuse support

Trump is pressuring his supporters in Congress to block a $60 billion US military aid package for Ukraine. According to former Trump advisers, he constantly praised Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Orbán also refuses to send military support to his neighbor Ukraine and regularly calls for a ceasefire, convinced that Ukraine cannot win. Hungary is the only member of the European Union that continued to maintain close ties with the Kremlin, despite Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

“President of Peace”

“President Trump was a president of peace,” Orbán said in a statement after his meeting with Trump, “he commanded respect in the world and thus created the conditions for peace. During his presidency there was peace in the Middle East and peace in Ukraine. And there would be no war today if he were still president of the United States.”

“We agreed that there will be peace if there are world leaders who want peace. I am proud that Hungary is one of those countries,” said Orbán. “We also agreed that there is still great potential in US-Hungarian economic relations.

“Here in America the campaign is in full swing. It is up to the Americans to make their own decision, and it is up to us Hungarians to honestly admit that it would be better for the world – and also better for Hungary – if President Donald Trump were to return to power.” concluded the Hungarian Prime Minister.

Trump in turn praised his guest: “There is no one better, smarter or a better leader than Viktor Orbán. He’s fantastic, he’s a non-controversial figure because he says, ‘This is how it’s going to be,’ and that’s the end of it. However? He’s the boss. No, he’s a great leader.”
