Hundreds of Catholic parishioners began today the commemorative activities for Holy Week, with the traditional Palm Sunday procession in the Historic Center of San Salvador, in an atmosphere of fervor and security.
This activity marks the triumphant entry of Jesus into the city of Jerusalem. To commemorate this event, the procession traveled through the streets of the heart of the capital in complete normality, where the Catholic faithful accompanied the image of Jesus Christ with their palm branches that received holy water and remembering the biblical passage about the triumphal entry of Jesus to the city. holy

The route started from De La Amargura Street, in front of the El Calvario parish, and then moved along 6th Oriente Street to 2nd Oriente Street, Delgado Street, a section of España Avenue, until returning again to the starting point. , along San Jerónimo Emiliani Avenue.
Songs, prayers and dances in the middle of the procession showed the devotion of the Catholic faithful.
