Pordenone, thirty other nurses at risk of suspension because they are not vaccinated

PORDENONE. New suspensions are coming for nurses who have not vaccinated. After the assessment documents issued by the prevention department in recent days, the council of the Order convened a meeting for Monday 13 September, at 4 pm, to proceed with the consequence envisaged by the law.

The Asfo Prevention Department (Western Friuli Healthcare Company), in application of the decree of early April, issued an act of ascertaining the non-fulfillment of the vaccination obligation for 151 operators, residing in the province of Pordenone and employed in public and private facilities not only from the region (in the previous lists there were also pensioners), who did not respond to the invitation to be vaccinated.

After having completed the reminder and invitation to submit documentation certifying the exemption from administration, the prevention department sets an appointment with the vaccination. For the latter “ascertained” it was scheduled for July and August, but they did not show up.

Among these there are also about fifty nurses and for 30 of them the assessment document has already been sent to the Order of Nurses who called the meeting on Monday: it will proceed with the suspension if a “counterorder” does not arrive from the department of prevention, which is highly unlikely.

After the pronouncement of the Order, which will adopt a specific resolution, nurses will not be able to work either in public or private facilities.

A procedure that, although new, is beginning to be tested. The order of nurses in recent weeks has suspended its members, but has also readmitted them both because in the meantime they have been vaccinated and because their position has been clarified.

A different choice is that of the Medical Association which limits itself to taking note of the suspension decreed by the prevention department and notifying its member.

The one issued on Thursday by the prevention department is the fourth ascertainment act and others will follow because the “census” of unvaccinated operators has not yet concluded.

Acts on the basis of which the employer must also proceed with the suspension. Private structures have done so and the Asfo has also suspended nurses and social health workers, and a general practitioner, readmitted in recent days.

For now, the suspension by the Asfo has concerned a small group of operators, not compromising the activity. But if the number were to increase, things could change, with the need to take appropriate measures to ensure the continuation of services. –
