In a ceremony, held this Tuesday at the Government Palace, the President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, swore in Alejandro Rubín Cymerman as the new ambassador of Paraguay to the State of Israel. The new representative will present his credentials in the allied country in a few days.

“Alejandro Rubín is a person who knows Israeli culture perfectly, he knows the country, as well as Paraguay’s need for an approach in which the bilateral agenda is related to cooperation and trade,” said the national chancellor, Rubén Ramírez Lezcano. , after the swearing-in ceremony.

Rubín will soon present his credentials that will enable him to carry out his duties “in that country that is so important for our international relations,” added the chancellor.

At the same time, he highlighted that Paraguay welcomed the recent news of the opening of the Israeli market for bone-in meat from Paraguay, “which represents a qualitative leap in export opportunities for that product.”

He indicated that in the relations between both states, technical-scientific cooperation and other fields where Israel has an important level of development and specialization play an important role, such as irrigation systems for agricultural production, which are of interest to Paraguay.

He also pointed out that, at the diplomatic level, they are working together with the Israeli government, so as to designate and accredit an ambassador in Asunción “to have a principle of balance.”

Structural reorganization of the diplomatic service

On the other hand, the national chancellor highlighted that the oath of the new Paraguayan ambassador to the State of Israel represents the beginning of a series of accreditations in embassies that currently have vacant positions.

“There are more than 14 vacancies at this time, we will be asking the countries for approval and then sending the request for a constitutional agreement to Congress,” said Ramírez Lezcano.

He noted that the National Chancellery is carrying out a structural reorganization of both the local and international diplomatic service.

“In the foreign service we are resizing our entire presence and appointing ambassadors,” he said.

The names of the next ambassadors to be appointed will gradually be known to the extent that we receive the approval of the different governments and the message requesting approval is sent to Congress, he added.
