China News Service, Kinmen, February 20 (Reporter Yang Chengchen) – The recent mistreatment of a mainland fishing boat by relevant Taiwan authorities has resulted in the tragic death of two fishermen. In response to this, the Quanzhou Red Cross Society and others have sent personnel to accompany the crew members’ families to Kinmen to handle the aftermath matters.

There are nine people in the Quanzhou Red Cross delegation, which includes six family members of the deceased fishermen.

Li Zhaohui, senior adviser to the Quanzhou Jinjiang Red Cross Society, stated that the violent pursuit of a Fujian fishing boat by Taiwan led to the loss of two lives and has stirred strong indignation from all parties in the mainland. This incident has deeply hurt the feelings of compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.

“Our trip to Kinmen is to understand the truth, assist the families in the aftermath, and bring back the two survivors,” said Li Zhaohui. He emphasized the need for Taiwan to take the legitimate concerns of the families seriously, cooperate with the aftermath, and avoid further harm to the affected families.

Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, has also urged relevant parties in Taiwan to provide convenience and make necessary arrangements for the crew members and related personnel to go to Kinmen. It is important to take their legitimate concerns seriously and avoid further hurting the feelings of compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.

The mistreatment of the mainland fishing boat has sparked outrage and calls for justice, as efforts are being made to support the affected families and bring the truth to light. The need to respect the rights and well-being of individuals involved in such incidents is crucial to maintaining peace and stability in the region.
