Quarrel among young people, bartender avoids the worst – breaking latest news

BATTIPAGLIA. It happened again, in the city center. And this time it could have ended really badly if it hadn’t been for the intervention of a young bartender, Benedetto Bruno. It was just after 9.30 pm when two young people arrived in Piazza Aldo Moro, mingling with the numerous citizens who like to spend the evening of Saturday evening attending the clubs in the center. A Battipagliese and a Senegalese. They came from neighboring streets in which they had probably already begun the discussion. It is not clear what the reasons for the quarrel were. Nor, after all, do they have much importance. The two, however, far from trying to make peace, arrived where there were many citizens of all ages who were trying to enjoy a peaceful weekend in peace, they continued to quarrel. More and more intensely. Even shouting. The two approached menacingly and then walked away. Always screaming. Also preventing the waiters of the administration exercises from working in peace and reaching the customers at the tables. At one point the Battipagliese approached one of the glass bins and some bottles left by some uncivilized on the ground. He collected them. then approaching the other menacingly. The Senegalese did the same. They were about to face each other armed with bottles. The Battipagliese, then, has seen fit to take the lead and pulled out a knife. At that point the young bartender’s intervention was providential. Seeing the weapon he feared the worst. And without hesitation the twenty-two year old, Benedetto Bruno, launched into the fray and disarmed the young man with a knife. In the meantime the phone call to the carabinieri had started from the premises of the Piazza. The military patrol arrived on site in just over five minutes. But by the time the military arrived, the two had already evaporated. «« It could have ended really badly – says Benedetto Bruno – when I saw that one of the two was taking the knife I didn’t think twice. There was a lot of people. Also many children in the square. I couldn’t wait for the carabinieri to arrive, it could be too late ».
The presence of vending machines for drinks, the outdoor tables arranged by the locals present, people walking and stopping to drink or eat something, made the stretch of the square very crowded and the situation could actually degenerate. Maybe even involving other people. The prompt intervention of the young bartender therefore averted the worst.
But yesterday morning the fight and the danger were the main topic of conversation. Merchants are increasingly tired and worried. It is not the first time, in fact, that the evening turns into violence, putting the work of the administration activities in the area at risk and discouraging the patrons.
