Giunta Forza (Italy) ten. Three weeks after his resignation, Mario Bovino’s high-altitude position left vacant by Mario Bovino is again filled.
To recompose the mosaic by reinserting the missing piece, the mayor Maurizio Rasero has given life to a sort of mini-reshuffle through a series of moves and new assignments within the council. Starting with the entry of Piero Ferrero, a long-time municipal councilor and until recently the team leader of the Azzurri.
The members of my team are back to being ten – said the mayor in the press conference convened in the town hall – we respected the times we had set ourselves: we had the priority of the budget and we were among the first municipalities in Italy to do so: then we thought of rearranging things in the council after Bovino’s resignation ».
A small domino effect agreed with the regional coordinator of Forza Italia Marco Gabusi, a list that had elected Bovino in 2017.
Ferrero, in essence, president of the Public Works Commission, gives way to Andrea Morando, former Italian provincial manager with Iole Chiorra, second Forza Italia councilor, who then becomes group leader.
However, Ferrero does not add tasks previously entrusted to Bovino to the delegations to the Fractions and Cemeteries, but the Department of the Environment, in recent years under the responsibility of Renato Berzano: until the elections scheduled for spring, the current Budget Councilor will deal with therefore also of Personnel and Participants.
Sport and Information Systems, the other two departments that Bovino dealt with, remain instead to the mayor Rasero.
But the worry of the mayor continue to be the voices of internal dissensions in the Center-right of which the divorce from Bovino would be the tip of the iceberg: “The budget vote instead demonstrates our compactness – Rasero argued – if we have not often discussed too much in the Council it is because we have always made the synthesis before: once again 21 votes out of 21, full majority, as happened another 96 times on more or less important topics “.
Then a reflection on Bovino’s resignation.
«A personal choice, but the world goes on – said Rasero – I thank him for these important years and the things we have done together. Passion has never been lacking and his vote on the Budget before resigning confirms this. ” always provided his full support – in Rasero’s words – just as Ferrero has done in recent years ». Piero Ferrero’s political career began in the Castiglione district and since 1998 has continued uninterruptedly on the benches of the Council.
“He boasts the most experience among the councilors, among other things we started to do politics together and over time made the same political choices” underlined the mayor.
«For me it is the crowning of a career – the words of Ferrero – the icing on the cake. Five electoral campaigns, always elected and experience as president of the Public Works Commission twice ».
Pats on the back also from Gabusi: “Excellent choice, a recognition of his experience even if perhaps a bit late – said the regional councilor – and we expect him to lead our list to the Municipalities”.
With which candidate for mayor? «Well, for us it is only one. There is no doubt »Gabusi replied with an investiture glance at Rasero.
The mayor, however, still glosses over: «Let’s think about going ahead – he replied – we are now at the point and the time will come to indicate which choice will be the best for the city. In this moment, however, I am the mayor and I do not need to say what I will do ».
