[NTDTV, Beijing time, March 04, 2022]The Chinese Communist Party has not been able to evacuate overseas Chinese, and Chinese students in Ukraine who are caught in the war-torn situation cannot return to China. Local media reported that at least 13 students, including four Chinese students, were killed when Russian troops suddenly opened fire on a university dormitory in Kharkiv.

The Ukrainian media “Observer” (Obozrevatel) reported that on the evening of March 3, Russian troops opened fire on the student dormitory of the Kharkiv State Institute of Culture. According to preliminary official figures from Kharkiv, 13 students were killed and 6 injured. The exact number of casualties is still being counted.

Official sources said that among the 13 students who died, four were Chinese students and one was an Indian student. After verification, the names of 2 Chinese students are Jin Tianhao and Li Zhi.

According to numerous media reports, some Russian troops have carried out indiscriminate attacks on civilians in Ukraine. Cities such as Kharkiv were also bombarded by the Russian army, causing a large number of civilian casualties.

After the news of the Russian army killing Chinese students was spread on Twitter, netizens speculated how the CCP, who supported Russia, responded, whether it was “playing stupid” or “framing Ukraine” and “suppressing the families of the deceased”.

Some netizens responded that “Ukrainians attacked Chinese citizens” on mainland Weibo, and the CCP’s public opinion orientation is still “just Russian troops do not attack civilians.”

A few days ago, there was also a video on the Chinese video platform. The content was a Chinese man in Ukraine crying. A group of Chinese students were shot on the street by seven or eight Russian tanks that suddenly rushed out. One of the Chinese was injured and admitted to the hospital.

After Russia invaded Ukraine, the CCP repeatedly claimed “neutrality”, but its actual actions clearly supported Russia. Under the leadership of the CCP, a group of cyber troops frantically supported Russia and demoted Ukraine, while the Chinese people who opposed the war of aggression were silenced.
