SALERNO – The “liberation” of one of the main streets of the city of Arechi comes just one day before the day when all of Italy remembers the end of the Nazi-fascist regime. The former state road 18 in the stretch on the border between Salerno and Vietri sul Mare, a road that became “impossible” after the landslide of 10 February last, was once again passable in both directions yesterday morning at 9 am.
But it will only be a first and fundamental step to start a series of interventions in an area in which, for some time, there has been a very important “fragility” and which needs important works to ensure safety: the Municipality of Salerno, in fact, has already announced the tender for the design of the safety of the rocky ridge affected by the landslide and of the one below via Ligea thanks to ministerial funds. And the process will be sprint because there is the risk, in the event of bureaucratic delays, of losing the loans obtained, amounting to one million and 300 thousand euros. Concept already passed in the last City Council where the works were included among the items on the agenda.
