SAPPADA. All Sappada wanted to give the last farewell to Roberto Brovedani, the owner of the Laite restaurant who died last Friday at the age of 59: the funeral yesterday was celebrated by the parish priest Don Gianluca Molinaro, by the archdeacon of Tolmezzo Monsignor Angelo Zanello, from Monsignor Pietro Piller, Vicar forane of the Mountain, and by Don Bernardo, a friend of the family. And all of Sappada gathered around his wife Fabrizia Meroi, who shared his life and this very successful work experience with Roberto, and to his daughter Elena, who dedicated a touching letter to his father with the best moments of their life. together. Brovedani’s death had an international echo, given the fame that had also led Roberto to be named sommelier of the year 2015 for the restaurant guide of L’Espresso; but it touched above all the people of Sappada who appreciated its friendliness, style, human depth. With Fabrizia Meroi, Roberto Brovedani had made the Laite (in Sappada “meadow in the sun”) one of the best restaurants in Italy. Its role is fundamental, as reiterated in a message from Mayor Piller Hoffer, for the relaunch of Sappada.
