At Camera, the center for photography in Turin, the first Italian solo show of Salvatore Vitale, artist, teacher and curator born in 1986 in Palermo but resident in Zurich, Switzerland, is underway. In his artistic research Vitale investigates the development and complexities of contemporary society, focusing in particular on power and technology.

The exhibition How to secure a country + collects two works created between 2014 and today, which through different media (photos, videos, installations) tell the Swiss national security system. With a neutral and uncritical approach, Vitale represents in a series of chapters the idea of protection that a state wants to apply towards its citizens. In addition to these projects, part of the work is also included in the exhibition Persuasive system, still not finished, which reflects on digital surveillance in the social control of individuals.

How to secure a country + it will be open until 12 December; the artist will hold a meeting in the Chamber on 25 November and a two-day workshop, from 26 to 27 November. Until 13 February the museum also hosts We love sports at Martin Parr.
