Nicolás Petro, son of President Gustavo Petro, as well as his actions during the last 2022 electoral contest, remain in the eyes of the authorities after he initially confessed to receiving money of dubious origin that would later have been used for his personal expenses. More recently, it was known that Among the sources of these resources would be a surveillance company that would be related to the Vega Daza criminal clan, one of the most dangerous on the Caribbean coast.
The investigation was presented by Noticias Caracol in which it was reported that the security company Lost Prevention, in the Atlantic, It would be serving as a front so that at least four members of the clan had weapons under their protection. The same ones that would have been used to carry out their criminal actions in Barranquilla, Riohacha and Urabá.
These members would be Rafael Vega Cuello alias ‘Kike’, one of the patriarchs of the criminal group and who would serve as Director of the company ‘Lost Prevention’. In addition, two of his children would have functions as ‘escorts’. For his part, another member identified as Jorge Salazar, served as operational coordinator from the weapons department of the private security company. The latter would have at least 20 complaints for extortion and armed violence.
