The documents do not arrive: the Fiera di San Martino loses street food

by admin

There will be no traditional food stands in Piazza Piloni.

BELLUNO. The Fiera di San Martino loses Street food along the path towards recovery. The Committee for safety and public order was unable to express an opinion regarding the organization of this part of the event and therefore had to eliminate the presence of the food and wine stalls that would have already been positioned today in Piazza Piloni. There will be the 74 exhibitors already planned and the other “corners”.

At the prefecture table, chaired by the prefect Mariano Savastano (with carabinieri, police headquarters, firefighters and institutions), the organization and risk factors of the traditional Fiera di San Martino were assessed, in terms of both public safety and the situation sanitary. From the point of view of Covid, it is known that tomorrow only those with the Green pass will enter the Fair, which will be checked at a series of entry points (such as parking lots, for example). On the other hand, the documents relating to the organization of the Street food stalls did not arrive: here from the point of view of safety, such as fire prevention for example, the Committee was unable to express an opinion, not having received the documentation to be evaluated. So the plan presented did not have the full approval and the San Martino Fair will not present the nine refreshment points in Piazza Piloni. The presences of visitors in the pre-Covid years, tomorrow are not estimated, also because the adverse weather could affect the flow of participants.

I cut the vax

Also the new directives of the Interior Ministry yesterday on the table of the Public Order and Safety Committee: the no vaxes have already spontaneously decided to move to the station square for the usual Saturday demonstration. The Committee decided to assess the situation at each request for a march by the no vax-no pass, since there have never been problems of public order in the city. The Mayor and the prefecture are instead evaluating in which places to ban these processions in the future: it is always the Interior Ministry that asks for it. “We have no immediate needs, because the next no vax demonstration will be held at the station,” said Mayor Jacopo Massaro. “There are new directives that impose the need to limit the spread of the virus in these events, which we know to have been (also in Belluno by the way) somehow triggered new contagion fronts, but there is also a recommendation to adopt organizational methods that minimize the possibility of harming traders, who are quite annoyed. Without wishing to create wars, I say that alternative solutions can be found that allow the coexistence of the right to demonstrate with the right of merchants and tourists to be able to enjoy the city and exercise their economic activity. We do not have immediate needs, but we will make careful assessments to verify whether some places, such as Piazza Duomo, dei Martiri, Delle Erbe, are unsuitable for the events and therefore move them elsewhere. A decision was not taken during the meeting of the Committee, we reserve the right to make an evaluation in the interest of all ».
