The government inaugurated Expo Metal 2024 on Wednesday in the mining state of Bolívar (southern, bordering Brazil), with the objective, among others, of attracting national and foreign investments in the metallurgical sector, for the development of the country.
More than 300 companies participate in this event which, until its closure next Saturday, will hold business conferences, presentations and workshops, in order to boost the production and potential of national basic industries, said the executive vice president, Delcy Rodriguezduring the opening ceremony.
“Another of the strategic objectives of this Expo Metal is the attraction of both national and international investments, investments for national development and for the development of the metal, steel and iron industry,” said the also Minister of Economy, Finance. and Foreign Trade.
For his part, Nicolás Maduro assured that the country has taken its own path and model of diversification of “the entire productive machinery”, with the purpose of “satisfying internal economic needs, developing the export vocation and generating wealth.”
“All national and international investments are welcome to make productive alliances,” said the head of state, who authorized the exploitation of a bauxite mine located in Bolívar to the state-owned Bauxilum.
The president reiterated that, according to his forecasts, the Venezuelan economy will grow at least 8% this year compared to 2023, when the national gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 5.5%, according to official figures.
