The Ministry of Education is focusing on using digitalization to help expand and improve basic education in China. As part of the national digital strategic action, the Ministry has launched a pilot project for the full application of the national smart education platform for primary and secondary schools.
The pilot project aims to expand the coverage of high-quality resources, promote educational reform and innovation, demonstrate and lead regional education balance, and improve education quality. The focus is on three major tasks: carrying out pilot projects in Guangdong and Hainan, integrating resources from all platforms at all levels, and strengthening full-process application for all employees in the entire region.
In addition, pilot projects will also be carried out in ethnic minority areas in the central and western regions to improve the effectiveness of national platform applications and digital resource construction. The goal is to help promote the high-quality development of education in ethnic minority areas and build a sense of community for the Chinese nation.
By the end of 2025, the Ministry aims to achieve a new teaching paradigm with the scale effect of artificial intelligence application. The pilot work will help deepen the application of new models, methods, and achievements, allowing for the co-construction and sharing of high-quality resources on a larger scale.
Through the joint efforts of the ministries and provinces, the digitalization of education in China is expected to benefit more teachers and students, ultimately improving the quality of basic education in the country.
