A rose for Virginia. On the occasion of the awarding of the Omegnese women protagonists of social, cultural, sporting and economic life, a thought went to Virginia Savojni, the official of the Red Cross who in recent weeks has been at the forefront of helping the Ukrainian populations involved in the war.

The ceremony, commissioned by the Municipality of Omegna through the councilors Sara Rubinelli (Culture) and Sabrina Proserpio (Social policies) it was a testimony of how important is the role that women have assumed in the city. During the concert, with Roberto Olzer at the piano and the voice of Gianmaria Ferraris, the awarding of the women who initially became fourteen from ten.

«Our city is full of female figures who work for others on a daily basis – Rubinelli and Proserpio recalled -: if our community grows we owe it to them too because each in its own sphere knows how to be a protagonist without showing off. This is an opportunity to say thank you, and we do it in a simple way, with a musical evening and the gift of a rose, with the heart, even to Virginia ».

Virginia Savojni has recently left Ukraine for security reasons like other Red Cross officials and is now in Hungary where she can coordinate her rescue work with greater safety.

The rose dedicated to her was collected by her mother Maria Giulia Comazzi, who received the “Donna di Omegna” award three years ago. Here is the list of all the winners: Rosita Broggini, Vilda Lenta, Franca Roda Balzarini, Maria Antonietta Fantoli, Maddalena Sesiani, Michela Gioira, Silvia Padulazzi, Maria Spoto, Maura Cerutti, Gloria Celli, Giovina Giacomini, Roberta Oldrati, Eriana Rossi and Cinzia Ballestroni.
