The second session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference convened its second plenary session on the morning of March 7th at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The meeting was attended by Wang Huning, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, along with 14 members who gave speeches.

During the session, various members highlighted the progress made in different sectors of the economy and society over the past year. Member Ning Jizhe recommended intensifying macro-control policies to stabilize growth, while Member Chen Qun emphasized the importance of basic research and the need for specific measures to support it. Member Yi Gang focused on promoting high-quality financial development, and Member Sima Hong spoke about the necessity of optimizing the industrial system.

Other members addressed issues such as the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, the cultivation of new materials industry, and the support for agricultural modernization. Recommendations were also made regarding new consumption trends, grain production for food security, and the financing of science and technology innovation.

The meeting, chaired by Shen Yueyue, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, was attended by several other prominent figures, including Shi Taifeng, Hu Chunhua, and Wang Yong. The speeches and discussions reflected the commitment of Chinese leaders to advancing various aspects of the country’s development and modernization.
