On Tuesday, March 26, the national football team of Ukraine, which beat Bosnia and Herzegovina in the semi-finals of the playoffs (2:1), won the decisive match at the Tarczyński Arena in Wroclaw against rivals from Iceland and for the fourth time in its history (after Euro -2012, Euro-2016 and Euro-2020) will play in the final tournament of the European Championship.

From the first minutes of the meeting, which gathered more than 34,000 fans in the stands, the islanders showed that it was no accident that they defeated the Israeli team in the semi-finals of the playoffs (4:1). And already in the 30th minute, the author of the hat trick in that meeting in Budapest, Albert Gudmundsson (by the way, Malinowski’s teammate from “Genoa”) punished the defense of the “yellow and blue” for imitating the selection of the ball and powerfully “shot” from afar – 0 :1.
Soon, Rebrov’s wards succeeded in a successful attack, and Yaremchuk directed the ball into the net. But the French referee Turpin canceled the Icelanders’ goal with the help of VAR – Tsygankov was offside.
However, in the 54th minute, the referee team had no reason to cancel Ukraine’s goal after a solo pass and a cool shot by Tsygankov into the corner of the goal — 1:1.
The Ukrainians continued to inflame the situation at the gates of the islanders. But the Icelanders held on and responded twice so dangerously in the attack that it was not only Rebrov who was scared. God had mercy – they did not kill. But Mudryk scored on the 84th – from a free kick, into the very corner. Ukraine is at the European Championship!
In two more playoff finals, the last participants of Euro-2024 were determined: Georgia – Greece – 0:0, on penalties – 4:2; Wales — Poland — 0:0, on penalties — 4:5.
Thus, the final composition of the groups of the final tournament of the European Championship, which will be held from June 14 to July 14 in Germany, became known.

Group C. Slovenia, Denmark, Serbia, England.
Group D Poland, the Netherlands, Austria, France.

We would like to add that the two best teams from the six groups, as well as the four best holders of third places, will advance to the 1/8 finals of Euro-2024.
Earlier, “FACTS” reported that the youth national team of Ukraine beat Azerbaijan and with the maximum result leads the selection group of Euro-2025.
