“The mayor is stable and his health condition is not life-threatening,” the Country Clinic reported after the surgery.
The Bogotá Mayor’s Office has not yet given any statement about who will lead the Administration while Galán, who took office on January 1, recovers.
On the other hand, the clinic asked the media for understanding due to the “privacy of the medical history” of the mayor who has been in office for just over a month.
They also added that if there is any news about Galán’s health status, the entity will ask his relatives for permission before sharing it with the public.
The mayor made several public appearances this weekend, including welcoming the runners of the Tour Colombia, the most important cycling race in the country, to the capital.
