Colombian and US Authorities Capture Dangerous Criminal Alias “Maracucho”

Colombian and US authorities have successfully captured Aderbiss Segundo Pirela Pirela, a notorious criminal known by the alias “Maracucho” or “Pedrito”. Pirela Pirela was identified as the second leader of the “Satanás” organized crime gang, according to sources from the Bogotá Metropolitan Police.

Pirela Pirela’s criminal record dates back to 2017 when he faced an arrest warrant in Venezuela for domestic violence and extortion. Additional judicial requests were issued against him in 2019. He then reportedly arrived in Colombia at least three years ago and began terrorizing merchants in the capital with his criminal activities.

On November 2, 2023, he allegedly took control of the “Satanás” gang following the capture of the main leader, José Manuel Vera. However, investigations by the Prosecutor’s Office revealed an existing arrest warrant against Pirela Pirela for conspiracy to commit a crime and drug trafficking dated back to 2022.

Furthermore, there is an arrest warrant against him for the murder of a citizen on October 15, 2023, in the El Amparo neighborhood of Kennedy. Pirela Pirela reportedly fatally shot the man twice in the face during the incident.

The director of the Bogotá section of the Prosecutor’s Office, Leonor Merchán, stated that the investigations against Pirela Pirela were instrumental in his capture in Texas, United States, involving international agencies in the operation.

Commander of the Bogotá Metropolitan Police, General José Daniel Gualdrón, shared details of Pirela Pirela’s escape plan to the United States. The criminal allegedly traveled to Urabá Antioquia and proceeded to Mexico where he requested political asylum and stayed in an immigrant shelter, all while continuing to oversee his criminal operations.

Pirela Pirela’s capture in Texas marked the culmination of a coordinated effort between Colombian and US authorities to track and apprehend the dangerous criminal. His record also includes incidents such as throwing a grenade in a Bogotá motel area due to merchants’ refusal to pay extortion fees.

Official sources indicate that Pirela Pirela was responsible for threatening various business owners and ordering hits on individuals related to extortion activities. The successful capture of “Maracucho” serves as a significant blow to organized crime in the region.
