Venezuelan social entrepreneur Claudia Valladares has been recognized as one of the 50 women of impact in Latin America. Valladares, the director and co-founder of Impact Hub Caracas, has dedicated over 20 years to developing public, private, and non-profit programs to support neglected and needy segments of society.
Valladares, who has a background in the financial sector and microfinance, has been a coach and consultant for numerous corporate clients promoting innovation and intrapreneurship. She has also been involved in the formation of new Impact Hubs in Africa and Latin America.
Her work has taken her to 50 countries around the world and she has been honored with several national and international awards, including being named “Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2010” by the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship and the World Economic Forum.
Valladares has also been recognized as a Responsible Leader by the BMW Foundation and has received awards such as the Bronze Award for Voluntary Service from the President of the United States. She holds degrees in Systems Engineering, MBA, and a Master in Finance, as well as specialized courses in microfinance, social entrepreneurship, and corporate social responsibility.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Valladares is a tennis player who loves cooking, art, traveling, photography, singing, and music. She speaks English, French, and Portuguese, and her ultimate goal is to end poverty.
Valladares’ commitment to making a positive impact in the world has earned her a well-deserved spot among the 50 women of impact in Latin America.
