A brutal attack in the heart of Manhattan has left a young woman hospitalized and police on the hunt for her attacker. The 25-year-old victim was walking on 7th Avenue near W. 23rd St. in Chelsea when a man approached her around 10:05 p.m. on February 8th. Without warning, the assailant grabbed a baseball bat and struck the woman in the head before fleeing the scene.
The New York police have described the incident as a “random” crime, as the victim did not know the suspect. The woman was rushed to Lenox Hill Hospital to receive treatment for a cut and bruise on her head. Despite efforts to track down the suspect, no arrests have been made and no suspects have been identified.
