Young Italian-German kills family in Germany – News

A 19-year-old with dual citizenship, Italian and German, stabbed his parents and brother to death in Hohentengen, a small municipality in Baden-Württemberg, in south-west Germany, also seriously injuring his sister. This was reported by the German agency Dpa, citing the police and prosecutor’s office. The crime was perpetrated last night around 9pm and the suspect was immediately placed in protective custody. The Sardinian Union website specifies that the parents were from Silius and Ballao, in the Cagliari area.

The young man “allowed himself to be arrested without putting up any resistance”, as Rahel Diers, spokeswoman for the Waldshut-Tiengen Prosecutor’s Office, said. An investigating judge has already issued the arrest order on charges of triple murder and attempted malicious murder. The motive is still being determined, Diers said. According to investigators, the parents – aged 58 and 61 – died at the scene, the apartment of a condominium. “The 34-year-old brother died in hospital due to his injuries despite resuscitation measures,” the police and prosecutor’s office said.

The 19-year-old’s sister also suffered serious cut and “impact” injuries: she was transported to hospital by helicopter but they are not life-threatening. A police spokesperson specified that the weapon used was a “knife”. Even today traces of blood were visible on the pavement in front of the front door, reports Dpa. Hohentengen is located on the border with Switzerland, in the district of Waldshut, and around 4,000 people live there. Baden-Wuerttemberg is the German region with Stuttgart as its capital, a historic destination for Italian emigration.
