A call from the public alerted the Hato Corozal police station about a gunshot that was heard in the Libertadores neighborhood near Marginal de la Selva, so uniformed officers on duty went to the place where they found a dead man.

The police report indicates that, according to the version of the wife of the murdered man, who was identified as Héctor José Ballesteros, 56 years old, an individual who was traveling in a camper from Paz de Ariporo, made a brief stop at the red wine stand that served the victim to drink coffee while passing through the urban area of Hato Corozal.

During the stop, the victim who was manning the stall noticed something unusual on the dashboard of the subject’s vehicle. Apparently, she saw some legs of a person and apparently commented on this unusual fact to the driver, so he got angry and left the place.
