The center-left saw the Pd and M5S agree on the candidacy of the lawyer Ariel Dello Strologo, expression of a coalition that, in what was once a red stronghold, aims for a ballot that would almost be worth a victory. In fact, the reconfirmation of Bucci – who worked hard and well for the reconstruction of the city – is taken for granted, perhaps already in the first round. Abstention will dominate. Five years ago the outgoing mayor Bucci was elected by just 112,000 voters and today the abstention rate is over 50%. Bucci, a company manager, is supported by the entire center-right (Fd’I, Lega, FI; Udc, Nuovo Psi, Toti’s list), as well as by Renziani and Calendiani. He should have an easy game on a moderate civic, Dello Strologo, supported by Pd, M5s, SI, Verdi, but who had to crush everything to the left.
