ESTORIL (PORTUGAL)

Axel Bassani redeems himself in Race 2. After a difficult Saturday, where he had finished the race in twelfth place, yesterday the Seren Del Grappa driver managed to cross the finish line in seventh position and was also the first of the independent teams.

On the Estoril track, in Portugal, Bassani showed an excellent performance on his Ducati of the Motocorsa Racing team, managing to leave behind seven riders compared to the fourteenth starting position. In the Superpole Race in the morning, however, Axel obtained a tenth place, a performance however determined by the error in the choice of tire.

“Race 1 on Saturday could also have gone well but the team made a mistake and by the middle of the race I ran out of rubber,” said Bassani at the end of the weekend in Portugal. «Yesterday morning, however, in the Superpole Race the team and I made a mistake in the choice of rubber compound, we started with the intermediates but those in front of me all had slicks. Too bad because we threw away two races. On the other hand, in Race 2 », Bassani continues,« we started on an equal footing with the others but it is not easy to recover from the fourteenth position, everyone is very strong. We tried our best and managed to finish seventh. We had a great step. We leave with a bad taste in our mouth because we have wasted so many opportunities and it is not the first time this has happened. We hope to improve for the next races ».
