Coach Diego Poletto’s team has completed the second week of preparation and the signs are already very comforting. This was assured by Franco Da Re, the new general manager of Volleyball Belluno.
«On Thursday evening we tried the game phase for the first time», reveals Da Re, «and at the end of the training we met with the technicians: in our opinion we are a bit ahead of what we thought. This makes us look with great confidence at the season that awaits us and which we know will be tough. It will be very important to recover that desire to play and to be a team that characterized last season. But the new ones are entering very quickly, both thanks to those who were already there and how they are adapting to the work requested by coach Poletto ».
Two weeks after the start of preparation, what is your idea of the Belluno club?
«I felt the enthusiasm and the desire to return to volleyball from the good times from the first time I came into contact with the club. And with Fabiana (Bianchini, president of Spes Belluno, ed) we made a great agreement for the youth sector. There are all the conditions for doing well. Plus one: the fact that, by now it is practically officially, we will play at the Spes Arena. Being able to play in the city, rather than having to move to Longarone, is essential if we want to bring enthusiasm back to Belluno ».
What will be the greatest difficulties?
«This is the volleyball of the greats, so to speak. From taraflex to video check, from Legavolley requirements to communication: the leap is certainly greater from an organizational point of view than from a technical point of view. However, in Belluno I found a good group of young executives who are already working with great enthusiasm, from the team manager to the video check manager ».
Will your role as general manager therefore, first of all, be precisely that of managing this leap forward on an organizational level?
“Exactly. The first thing to do was, and will be, to organize all these resources that operate around the team and make sure to channel them so that they are not dispersed. To put it simply, it is essential to understand who does what. For now I feel like we are doing a decent job ».
The training continues under the orders of coach Poletto, his second Nesello and the athletic trainer Sartori. The first friendly match should take place on Saturday 18 September against Trieste (Serie B). But a double “joint training” (round trip) with the team of Motta di Livenza of A2 is also being defined.
