Tommaso Marini won silver in men’s foil at the World Fencing Championships in Cairo, bringing Italy the third medal in the world championship event. The blue was beaten in the final by the French Ezio Lefort, who confirmed himself as world champion, with a score of 15-14. After being able to recover first from 9-3 and then from 14-10, Marini lost the decisive thrust.
