In the next season the Alto Canavese was once again included in the group A of the men’s Serie B (12 teams). Only two new teams: Collegno and Chieri, formations in which two former players of the Alto Canavese have married: the central Spinello in Collegno and the former captain of the cuorgnatesi Argilagos al Chieri. The rest of the group has instead remained unchanged: it will still be a challenge with Novi Ligure, where in the meantime the Bolla band, the Acqui Terme, the Sant’Anna di San Mauro Torinese and the Ciriè, where the free Sansanelli has returned. . In addition to the Piedmontese, in group A there will also be the Ligurians of Cus Genoa, Colombo Genoa, Abc volley La Spezia, Santo Stefano di Magra team, La Spezia volley and Lavagna.
A championship that promises to be challenging and will begin on Saturday 16 October. The first two will go to the playoffs. The last two recede directly. playout between the ninth and tenth. The latter, however, drops directly if it has three or more points behind the ninth.
Ready for the new challenge, the central Luca Marchese, 33 years old from Turin, a building engineer by profession: «We expected this group – explains Marchese – it changes little. The goal – continues Marchese – will be to be able to stay in the medium-high positions of the standings, knowing full well that we will have to fight with all our strength against every formation. We have been arriving for two very difficult years, due to Covid-19, another goal is to start and finish the season, it would be the first in Serie B that started and ended regularly ». After the resumption of preparation at PalaCuorgnè, as every year then, the team will carry out the usual retreat in Valtournenche, in Valle d’Aosta: “We can’t wait to go back to the gym and start preparing for the season”. –
