Max Verstappen wins the 18 th round of the Formula 1 world championship at the Hermanos Rodriguez circuit in Mexico City ahead of his rival for the title, Lewis Hamilton. For him it is the third time here on the top step of the podium. Third teammate Sergio Perez, at one point in the lead, praised by the home crowd. Fourth was the Frenchman Pierre Gasly with the AlphaTauri. Fifth place for Carlos Sainz’s Ferrari, sixth for Charles Leclerc.

The ninth victory of the season allows Verstappen to stretch over Hamilton in the world championship standings: the Dutchman climbs to +19 when there are 4 races left at the end of the season.

Immediately yellow flag at the start
Max Verstappen, who started from third place, immediately managed to overtake the Mercedes that occupied the front row and took the lead, while Valtteri Bottas, who was on pole, was surprised by the move of the Dutch Red Bull and after the first curve was touched by another car, ending up at the head of the tail. In the tussle, it was decided to display the yellow flag. After the safety car came out, on lap five, Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton with Mercedes and Sergio Perez with Red Bull set off in order. The same positions as the podium.
