The group of panthers, who have been working for almost four weeks to prepare for the new season, is growing in numbers these days with the arrival of three new foreigners, the Americans Courtney and Plummer plus the Bulgarian Vuchkova: only the return of the victorious blues is awaited. at the European Championship for training at last with full ranks that will occupy the second part of September. Already from August 16, the formal day of the meeting, temporarily reduced to individual training due to a case of Covid, some girls from the youth teams are in the gym, together with Wolosz, De Kruijf, Folie (who continues his individual path), Omoruyi, Gennari, Caravello and the new signing Frosini. The latter, world champion with the Under 19 national team and champion of Italy in the same category with Imoco San Donà, the yellow-blue environment already knows him. With the start of the preparation she made contact with some of the new companions, waiting to also embrace the European champions Egonu, De Gennaro and Sylla. «In the first days I was excited: I am happy and honored to be part of this group, after a summer full of satisfactions. I already knew Imoco Village, but now living there is something else: being all together is very important. I hope to learn a lot from Paola, she is very strong ». The setter Giulia Gennari will be in her third year in the Gialloblù, who has carved out important spaces during the perfect Imoco season and also wore the blue jersey in the pre-Olympic colleges. «Last year we won everything and we will have to keep working, also because many opponents have strengthened; however, we must not think of others, but commit ourselves with serenity to do what we know and what is good for us, because we are a good group ». The alternation in the rotations, at least at the beginning, could be more frequent for Gennari, given the rules on the Italians in the field and the absences of Fahr (long) and Folie (medium term). «For me it is the third year and I am very happy, I hope to find space during the championship. It was difficult to say no to Conegliano, rejecting proposals that had come from other clubs: here there is always an extra stimulus and some bets to win ». The second day of the championship will bring the panthers away to the field of the newly promoted Rome, Gennari’s hometown. «I have already marked it on the calendar on 17 October: I am happy for them that they have climbed to A1 and for me, so I can go home. For me it will be a derby and I think the capital is an important place for volleyball ». Lara Caravello’s versatility was precious for Conegliano’s results and the new season finds her even more determined. «My summer was full of training, for myself and for the team I followed. I went back to beach volleyball for a while and I kept fit, ready to restart with the new season ». The last chapter of the past one, the victory in the Champions League Superfinal in Verona, saw the Friulian player among the protagonists of the tiebreak. «I watched the race for the first time in mid-August and I enjoyed it 100%. On the shirt we also have the scudetto and the tricolor cockade: they weigh a lot, we will do everything we can not to make them unstitched, we hope this time with the support of our audience ». –
