Marcell Jacobs returns to the court. The reigning Olympic 100m champion will make his debut on Saturday in Jacksonvillein Florida, in a super challenge in the queen of athletics competition which also saw three of his training partners enrolled, the American Trayvon Bromellthe Canadian Andre De Grasse and Japanese Hakim Sani Brown. The Italian (time to be defined) will be on track for the first time in 2024, a season in which he aims to confirm himself as Olympic champion in Paris and European champion a Roma. The last outing in the 100 meters dates back to September 10th last year meeting in Zagreb.
The opportunity to see Jacobs again is the East Coast Relays on the Hodges Stadium track at the University of North Florida, which has hosted his training sessions since last autumn with coach Rana Reider. Among his rivals on Saturday, Sani Brown has already competed twice in recent weeks: 10.02 and 10.04 again in Florida. For the Chinese Xie a 10.06 was achieved, for Forde a 10.12. Also on Jacobs’ agenda are World Relays Nassau (May 4-5) to qualify for the Olympics with the blue 4×100 relay, the Roma Sprint Festival on May 18th Marble Stadium upon returning to Italy, the commitment of May 28th to Golden Spike in Ostrava (Czech Republic) and the great meeting of the European Championships in Rome with the evening of Saturday 8 June offering the gold medal in the 100 meters and the final evening of 12 June awarding the relay title.
