Still good tests, this time on the Brenta river, in Veneto, in view of the world championships in July in Ivrea: problems only for Simone Marchegiano
IVREA
Still great results for the athletes of the Ivrea canoa club, in Valstagna, Vicenza, in the national Kayak Slalom competition, also valid as a Selection for Junior and Under 23.
The race took place on the Brenta River, on a technical and demanding course designed by the Technical Director Daniele Molmenti. The Eporediese Lucia Pistoni confirms herself as the leader of the national junior female canoeism with a new victory obtained in the third selection test. Still among the Juniors, second place for Elio Maiutto in the Canadian single-seater and bronze for Michele Pistoni in K1. With these results obtained in the third selection round, the Ivrea Canoe Club Juniors have placed a serious risk on participation in the next World Championships which will take place in July at the Canoe Stadium in Ivrea.
Bad day instead for Simone Marchegiano who had performed well in the first two tests and now he will have to devote all his energies in the fourth test of June in Ivrea to hope to be part of the C1 team. Among the Under 23s, Davide Ghisetti is well placed in second place in the K1 Senior behind the carabiniere Marco Vianello: he is first among the Under 23s, Ghisetti himself is also third in the C1 Senior. For the Under 23s the world championship is a bit more complex because in the first tests the gap percentages set by the technical management were not reached. The slalom day in Veneto also recorded the victory of Cecilia Marchegiano in the women’s C1 Junior and the victory of the Ivrea teams in all the categories in which they participated. –
