Shi Yuhao Dominates National Indoor Track and Field Grand Prix with Long Jump Victory
Nanjing, China – The National Indoor Track and Field Grand Prix held at the Nanjing Sports Training Center Indoor Track and Field Hall came to a thrilling conclusion on March 17th, with Jiangsu player Shi Yuhao emerging as a standout performer once again.
After setting an impressive result in the men’s 60 meters event the previous day, Shi Yuhao continued his winning streak by clinching the men’s long jump championship with a jump of 8.04 meters. Sichuan’s Huang Changzhou finished closely behind, claiming the runner-up spot with an 8-meter jump.
The host team, Jiangsu, secured four more gold medals on the final day of the competition. Youngster Dong Ziang soared to victory in the men’s high jump with a height of 2.20 meters. In the men’s 200m event, Zhang Renjie crossed the finish line first in 21.10 seconds, adding to Jiangsu’s medal tally. The women’s 4x400m relay team from Jiangsu also took home the championship title.
Zhejiang players dominated the women’s pole vault final, with Chen Qiaoling emerging victorious by clearing a height of 4.30 meters. The Zhejiang team also saw success in other events, with Chen Yujie, Xi Xiaoheng, and Xu Kuantian winning the women’s 200m, men’s 800m, and men’s 3000m events respectively.
In the women’s 60-meter hurdles, Hunan’s Xia Sining stole the show and claimed the championship in 8.28 seconds. Despite injuries, Xia Sining showed tremendous grit and determination in her performance.
Other notable winners included Wang Chunyu of Anhui, Xu Shuangshuang of Shanghai, and Zhu Shenglong of Hubei, who triumphed in the women’s 800m, women’s 3000m, and men’s 60m hurdles events respectively. Hebei’s Xiao Ziyu and Guangxi’s Liu Dezhu also delivered impressive performances to secure victories in the women’s long jump and men’s 1500m events.
With fierce competition and outstanding performances, the 2024 National Indoor Track and Field Grand Prix showcased the incredible talent and dedication of athletes from across China.
