Max Eberl was already head of sports at other clubs. Most recently he was at the club RB Leipzig. Like Bayern Munich, the club plays in the Bundesliga. RB Leipzig released Max Eberl six months ago. At that time there were already reports that Max Eberl would become Bayern’s sports director.
Before that, FC Bayern had already fired its old sports director. It was Hasan Salihamidzic. FC Bayern is currently having problems in the Bundesliga. The team has lost a few games and is not in first place in the table. That’s why coach Thomas Tuchel is quitting at the end of the season. For Max Eberl this means: The first thing he has to do is look for a new coach.
