Achilles Bocholt does not win the Belgian Cup for the fifth time in a row. In the semi-finals, the Limburg defending champion stumbled over HC Visé.
Bocholt held up more than well in the first fifteen minutes. Even more, the score was 1-3 and 4-6. But the absence of Jeroen De Beule was especially noticeable at the back. At Visé, Bello and Hadzic were rolled out the red carpet all too often. Wout Winters’ four goals were not enough to avoid a 17-13 deficit at halftime.
Bocholt also had to suffer the match in the second half. After fifteen minutes the deficit had already increased to six units and there was no longer any question of a turnaround. Visé’s trainers continued to apply pressure, Vancosen was too often and too easy to reach on the circle. The error burden also weighed on Bocholt, who incurred six time penalties and saw Lamers go off with a red card. Visé got away with two time penalties and converted six penalty throws, Bocholt only scored one out of three.
Visé’s opponent in the final will be Hubo Handbal of Eupen. These two teams will meet each other on Thursday (8:15 p.m.) in the Alverberg in Hasselt.
