The disguise should be funny. But Australian rider and three-time Olympic medalist Shane Rose faced serious consequences after riding in a film costume. “Minimum clothing standards” should now be set.
This fun caused quite a stir: Australian eventer Shane Rose even had to fear missing the Olympic Games in Paris because of a daring costume. The 50-year-old took part in a fun jump near Sydney in various disguises, including a skimpy swimsuit like that of the film character Borat. Not everyone liked that: The Australian Equestrian Association EA temporarily banned Rose from competitions after a complaint and announced an investigation.

“I’m really sorry if I offended anyone with this,” Rose wrote on Facebook when the farce began: “I hope that the outcome of the investigation will allow me to return to competition and continue my path to the Olympics. “Nothing stands in the way of that now. “It’s a big relief,” he commented.
