The patron Nucera: “I have chosen an expert technician, used to playing to win” He will have to raise the team now in the play out area also with recourse to the transfer market
PAVIA
Giuseppe Fiorito is the new AC Pavia 1911 coach. The coach, who will turn 56 on 12 December, is originally from Nardò (Lecce) but has been working in Lombard football for some time, where he was at the helm of several teams, especially from Varese. . His CV speaks of four category jumps, two of which by winning the play offs with Venegono in Excellence and Cislago in Promotion. Fiorito in recent seasons has coached in Excellence at Legnano, Verbano and Vergiatese, where he finished last season in third place. In the 2018-19 tournament he took Legnano into the running and took him from seventh position to the final play off lost against Breno; then Il Legnano went up to D as he was fished out among the best losers of the playoffs.
After a week of reflection, following the exoneration, last Monday, of Omar Albertini and the team temporarily entrusted, up to the trip to Seveso, to the coach of the Italian junior, Alessandro Ruocco, the president Giuseppe Nucera has chosen an expert and profound connoisseur coach in the category with the hope of giving a change to a season that has so far been largely negative, with Pavia falling to the third to last position and in a profound crisis in terms of play and results (the victory has been missing since September 26).
“We have chosen a coach who is used to playing for the first places, who has the same goal as ours, that of winning again – underlines the patron Nucera, introducing the new coach -. Now is the time to just let the pitch talk. I am convinced that Fiorito is the best possible choice for Pavia today ».
First training, then the market
Fiorito was in the stands in Seveso on Sunday next to some Pavia managers and followed the team live, defeated 3-0. Today at 13.45 the official presentation at Fortunati, then the Apulian coach will direct the first training session on the eve of the opening of the winter market (scheduled for tomorrow), on which Pavia will have to intervene heavily, with incoming and outgoing operations aimed at strengthening the ‘organic and thus to lay the foundations to get back on top, leaving the uncomfortable play-out area. Time for evaluations and decisions, therefore, for the new coach and the management, called to urgently identify the reinforcements useful to revive the team. At the moment, beyond the technical and character limits (playing with fear as Pavia did in Seveso has done nothing but feed the errors), the squad is also short and with few expert elements. In Seveso, among the 20 Italian players in the list there were twelve under (born in the classes from 2000 to 2003). The first transfer market negotiations could take place as early as this week and it cannot be ruled out that some newcomers may already be employed in next Sunday’s match at Fortunati against rear-end Settimo Milanese, a match to be won at any cost. –
