Recovery Plan: the first € 24.9 billion paid to Italy – Economy

Rome, August 13, 2021 – Comes to Italy the first tranche of funds of the Recovery Plan. The European Commission paid 24.9 billion to Italy, as an advance of 13% on 191.5 billion of the total amount of Recovery for the country, up to 2026. The 24.9 billion are made up of 8.957 billion in non-repayable aid (equal to 13% of the 68.9 billion in grants provided) and 15.937 billion in loans (13 % of 122.6bn). Payments of the remaining 87% will flow based on the completion of the targets set.

The Italian recovery plan, Italia Domani, has the necessary ambition to make Italy an engine for the growth of the whole European Union. “Thus on twitter the president of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, commented on the transfer that allocates the first money to Italy, reiterating that “a strong Europe needs a strong Italy”.
